The Kellogg MSI Leadership Fellows Program (KMLFP) consists of three distinct programs: the AIHEC Leadership Fellows Program, the HACU Leadership Fellows Program, and the NAFEO Kellogg Leadership Fellows Program. The purpose of each program is to prepare 10 exemplary individuals per year (or 30 individuals across the three programs) for the challenges and rigors of becoming the next generation of senior-level leaders at the nearly 340 Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) in the U.S. Each Fellow is matched with a Mentor president from another MSI (not your current institution) who will serve as a guide and resource to the Fellow over the Fellowship year, and beyond.
How is the KMLFP Different from Other Higher Education Leadership Development Programs?

The Kellogg MSI Leadership Fellows Program targets a unique cohort of persons—current and emerging institutional leaders at MSIs—that are not specifically targeted by other higher education leadership programs. The Program also is unique in that it addresses leadership as it occurs in the context of minority-serving campuses, focusing on the interaction of the institution and the individual leader, the unique and complex situations endemic to MSIs, as well as individual leadership development. By specifically targeting senior leadership development at MSIs, this program will create a new leadership cadre sensitive to the development of both individual and cooperative efforts among MSIs. Groups of future leaders from HBCUs, HSIs, and TCUs will participate in meaningful activities where they can test competencies, take risks, manifest values, work collaboratively, and simultaneously receive support, counsel, and validation from more experienced leaders.

What are the program costs?
Unlike other higher education leadership programs, participants in the Kellogg MSI Leadership Fellows Program incur no monetary cost to their home institution. Travel and meeting expenses for Fellows and Mentors will be covered through participation in the program.
