Notice: Opening of the application for Hispanic-Serving Institutions-STEM and Articulation Program (HSI–STEM)

AGENCY: Office of Postsecondary Education, Department of Education.

HACU is pleased to announce the opening of the HSI STEM and Articulation Program (HSI-STEM).

The Hispanic-Serving Institutions STEM and Articulation programs will provide grants to assist Hispanic-Serving institutions (HSIs) to develop and carry out activities to improve and expand their capacity to serve Hispanic and other low-income students in attaining degrees in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics and to develop model transfer and articulation agreements between 2-year Hispanic-serving institutions and 4-year institutions in such fields.

Estimated Range of Awards:$700,000–1,200,000

Estimate Average Size of Awards:

Individual Development Grant: $775,000.

Cooperative Arrangement Development Grant: $1,100,000.

Deadline: Application must be received by April 29, 2011.

In conjunction with HACU's Capitol Forum, a special pre-conference workshop Monday, April 4, 2011, 9:30 - 10:45 a.m., will include presentations on this program and the 2011 Title V competitions by Carolyn Proctor and Peter Fusscas of the U.S. Department of Education. Other panelists at this workshop will present on funding opportunities from the Departments of Homeland Security and Energy and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
