Hall of Champions induction and Awards of Excellence at the HACU Partnership Lunch

HACU inducted Tomás Arciniega into its Hall of Champions and presented Awards of Excellence during its Partnership Lunch during the 2012 Annual Conference, and Silas Abrego, emeritus Vice President of Student Affairs at Cal State, Fullerton was presented with the Special Award for Exemplary Service to HACU.

The Outstanding HACU Public Sector Partner was awarded to the United States Department of Agriculture, and the Extraordinary Philanthropic Partner Award was presented to the United Health Foundation.

A presentation of the Jorge A. Caballero Student Leadership Award was made to Angelica Pallares, a graduate accounting student from West Texas A&M University.

Additionally, luncheon sponsors Buick, the U.S. Army, and ARAMARK were presented with tokens of appreciation.



  

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, represents more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S. HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Association’s headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California.
