Feds seeking input on career pathways systems

The U.S. Departments of Education, Labor, and Health & Human Services invite comments through a Request for Information (RFI) to support the development of high quality career pathway systems.  Responses to the RFI will be utilized to inform and coordinate federal policy development, strategic investments and technical assistance activities.  Responses to this RFI will inform the work of each Department as they design investments, policies and legislative strategies to improve outcomes for youth and adults.

The RFI can be found at https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2014/04/23/2014-09274/request-for-information-on-adoption-of-career-pathways-approaches-for-the-delivery-of-education.

The Departments are soliciting ideas and information from a broad array of stakeholders on improving outcomes for youth and adults through the use of career pathway approaches, including how to facilitate comprehensive, multi-system approaches and how to use existing resources in more coordinated and comprehensive ways.

Comments must be received by June 9, 2014.  Respondents are strongly encouraged to directly address one or all of the 13 questions as worded in the RFI, rather than providing general thoughts/comments about career pathways.  To comment on the RFI, go to www.regulations.gov and enter docket number ED-2014-OVAE-0044.

If you have any questions regarding the RFI, please direct them to questionsfor.octae@ed.gov
