Join USAID’s Minority Servicing Institutions series webcast featuring ASHA on November 12th, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. EST. USAID/ASHA encourages applications from Minority-Serving Institutions that have relationships with secondary schools, higher education institutions, medical centers and libraries abroad. The goal of USAID’s American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (USAID/ASHA) program is to build bridges between citizens of the United States and other countries by supporting construction projects and purchasing equipment for academic and medical organizations overseas.

In 2014, USAID/ASHA made 34 grants in 24 countries for a total of $23 million dollars. These awards are funded through a competitive annual grant and directly support schools, libraries, and medical centers outside the United States that serve as study and demonstrations centers for American ideas and practices. Since 1947, ASHA’s impact has covered the globe, working in nearly 80 countries with more than 270 institutions.

Maggie Moore, USAID Information Specialist, will present ASHA as one of the agency’s programming tools.  This event will use AdobeConnect software.  As a participant in the webcast, you will be able to follow the presentation and send in questions using the chat features of the AdobeConnect program.  Registrants will receive additional connection instructions for linking to the webcast in a separate invite.  Please direct any questions about participation in this event to msi@usaid.gov.

The purpose of this webinar is to assist potential applicants in preparing applications that address the requirements of an imminent USAID/ASHA funding announcement. Click here to learn more about ASHA or subscribe to the ASHA email list.
