HACU and Ford Motor Company Fund join forces to host a STEM Summit for college students in Miami Beach, Fla.

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is accepting applications from college students currently majoring in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields and interested in participating in a one-day STEM Summit.

The HACU Ford Motor Company Fund STEM Summit will take place at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel on Friday, October 9, 2015, 11 a.m. - 4:20 p.m. The summit will offer college students the opportunity to learn more about STEM career fields and to meet with professionals, academics and corporate representatives in those fields.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • College sophomores, juniors, or seniors
  • Majors: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Chemistry, Geosciences, Life Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, etc.)
  • An essay on “Why is Diversity Important for Innovation?” The students with the best five essays will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.
