HACU on the Road goes to California State University, San Bernardino

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) President and CEO Antonio R. Flores addressed the state of Hispanic higher education during a HACU on the Road event on April, 27, 2016, at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB).

The event included a PreK-12/Higher Education Collaboration Panel & Discussion, moderated by CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales, also chairman of HACU’s governing board. The panelists discussed the topic "Cradle to Career in San Bernardino" and included the following presenters:

  • Chancellor Bruce Baron, San Bernardino Community College District
  • Superintendent of Schools Ted Alejandre, San Bernardino County
  • Executive Director of Pre-College Programs Stephen Villaseñor, Ph.D., California State University, San Bernardino

The HACU on the Road event hosted by California State University, San Bernardino was sponsored by The Coca-Cola Company. The HACU on the Road tour is designed to promote national and international dialogue about Hispanic higher education.

Past invited guests have included chancellors, presidents of colleges and universities, superintendents of Hispanic-Serving School Districts, elected officials, corporate leaders, and other supporters of Hispanic higher education.

Some of the locations the tour has visited in previous years are: Mexico City and Guanajuato, Mexico; Bogota, Colombia; Borough of Manhattan Community College, CUNY (N.Y.); Texas Tech University; St. Thomas University (Fla.); San Bernardino Community College District (Calif.); Maricopa County Community College District (Ariz.); Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas); Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico; University of Colorado Denver; and Northeastern Illinois University.
