HACU president speaks at Hispanic Leaders program in San Antonio 

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities’ (HACU) President and CEO Antonio R. Flores was a speaker on a panel discussing “Education, science, and mobility,” on June 19, 2018, at the Hispanic Leaders program, held in San Antonio, Texas. 

The focus of the panel session was the growth of the Hispanic student population and addressing the need for more Hispanic students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. The panel is part of the multiday program “San Antonio the future of Latinos in the U.S.”

Jesús Andreu of the Carolina Foundation served as moderator for the panel that included:

Joedis Avila, manager, community development, Ford Motor Company Fund
Patsy Sánchez, director of diversity and inclusion, USF Latino Scholarship, University of South Florida

The Carolina Foundation, in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in the United States, annually organizes the Hispanic Leaders program, inviting U.S. professionals to Spain with the aim of bringing them closer to the Spanish reality and strengthening relations between both countries.
