HACU launches new ProTalento job board website

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has launched a new ProTalento job board website, at jobs.hacu.net. HACU’s ProTalento job board has an upgraded design with features to help employers find diverse and qualified candidates seeking opportunities in higher education, federal, corporate and nonprofit sectors. The new ProTalento job board will facilitate the job posting process for employers and will streamline the job search for candidates.

“HACU has long been a valuable resource for employers and job seekers and this newly released ProTalento job board is designed to improve access and overall user experience,” said Antonio R. Flores, president and CEO of HACU. “HACU has access to a wealth of great talent of emerging leaders and professionals at all levels from our various networks, including faculty and staff from Hispanic-Serving Institutions and its member institutions, along with alumni of the HACU National Internship Program, HACU Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo and other leadership programs.”

Higher education has experienced an unprecedented growth of Hispanic college students. However, the declining rate of Hispanic university presidents (from 4.5 percent in 2006 to 3.9 percent in 2016) underscores the importance of hiring highly qualified Hispanics and establishing a pathway towards senior leadership at colleges and universities.

“The ProTalento job board is another way for HACU to strengthen its efforts to help higher education institutions and organizations diversify their workforce,” added Flores.

HACU has been a resource for job postings since the founding of the Association 35 years ago. The Association first began posting jobs in its newsletter in response to employers seeking assistance from HACU in diversifying their workforce through the hiring of Hispanic professionals. Job posting in the quarterly magazine, the HACU website and now its newly released ProTalento job board all serve to meet one of the pillars of the Association’s mission of meeting the needs of business, industry and government through the development and sharing of resources, information, and expertise.

ProTalento employer features include the ability to instantly post jobs manually, showcase their company brand with their logo, and facilitate the search process with resume matching, a message center and email templates for ease in communicating with individual candidates or a group of potential candidates. A customized dashboard will allow employers to obtain and display account stats on an easy-to-read dashboard.

Job search candidates can automatically match jobs to their profile and upload resumes for ease of applying for jobs. A jobs alert feature and text message alerts are features also available for users.

As an added benefit, HACU institutional members are eligible to receive one free month of single job postings per membership year or a three-month discount on a yearly plan as part of their institutional membership dues. Members interested in receiving either member discount can contact memberinfo@hacu.net prior to signing up for an online account. A downloadable flyer with rates is available on the ProTalento website, jobs.hacu.net.
