HACU awards scholarships to five students with funding from The Coca-Cola Foundation

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, through support from The Coca-Cola Foundation, is pleased to announce that five students from HACU-member institutions have been awarded Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarships in the amount of $2,550 each for the 2021-22 school year.

Awardees, who are first-generation college students of Hispanic descent from a family whose parents did not attend college., submitted a 500-word essay about their personal motivation for applying to the scholarship as a first-generation college student. The following students were selected to receive a $2,550 scholarship:

  • Andy Hernandez - Florida International University
  • Dominic Griego-Chavez - Central New Mexico Community College
  • Jennifer Morales Salazar - San Diego State University
  • Lizbeth Aparicio - Utah Valley University
  • Stephanie Mata - Baylor University

The Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarships were part of the 2021-22 HACU Scholarship Program.
