HACU and Southwest Airlines announce student recipients of ¡Lánzate!/Take Off! Travel Award Program

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities and Southwest Airlines have announced approximately 175 college students will receive round-trip air travel through Southwest Airlines, as part of the SWA ¡Lánzate!/Take Off! Higher Education Program. The program was designed to help Hispanic college students stay connected with their family during the school year.

“Many students have shared with us their personal stories and the economic barriers they face trying to visit their loved ones back home while in college,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores. “We are truly proud of the impact the Southwest Airlines travel awards program has had on Hispanic students across the nation. HACU congratulates the recipients and wishes them success.”

The awardees were selected from students across the nation who submitted essays that described how the travel award would help them achieve their goal to pursue a higher education.

The ¡Lánzate!/Take Off! Higher Education Travel Program, in its 18th year, awarded approximately 1400 tickets among the 2022 recipients.
