HACU National Internship Program bids farewell to summer interns with virtual ceremony

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities bid farewell to its 2023 summer interns with a virtual ceremony held on Aug. 10, 2023. The participants were undergraduate and graduate students who served internships with federal agencies across the country, as part of the HACU National Internship Program.

Executive Director of HNIP Diana Vasquez welcomed and congratulated the interns, followed by keynote speaker Rosa Garay who serves as a Medical Interpreter for the National Institutes of Health.USDA intern Jordan Mendoza and National Science Foundation intern Jackie Carillo shared their experiences during the summer session.

Students participated in these internships for a total of 10 weeks, as part of HACU’s National Internship Program. The following agencies in the Washington, D.C., metro area and field offices throughout the country provided the internships opportunities:

  • Export-Import bank of the U.S.
  • Farm Credit Association
  • Food and Drug Administration
  • Library of Congress
  • National Aeronautics and Space Administration
  • National Institute of Health
  • National Science Foundation
  • Office of the Controller of the Currency

  • U.S. Agency for International Development
  • U.S. Department of Agriculture
  • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
  • U.S. Forest Service
  • U.S. Department of the Treasury
  • U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

HACU is accepting applications for the 2024 spring internship session. Internship dates are Jan. 8 – April 19, 2024. Applications will be accepted until Nov. 17, 2023. Information about eligibility and online application is available here.
