HACU holds California HSI Summit at 37th Annual Conference

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities held a California Hispanic-Serving Institution Summit on Oct. 29, 2023, for attendees of HACU’s 37th Annual Conference from the state, addressing critical issues students face. 

Prior to the start of the discussion, California State Representative Eloise Gómez Reyes presented a California Assembly Resolution to HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores recognizing the work HACU has done for HSIs in California and across the country.

The summit featured four panelists from California leading university, college and K-12 education. Speaking at the summit were Chancellor Juan Sánchez Muñoz, University of California, Merced; President Saúl Jimenez-Sandoval, California State University, Fresno; Chancellor Diana Z. Rodriguez, San Bernardino Community College District; and Superintendent Ted Alejandre, San Bernardino County of Schools.
