HACU National Internship Program bids farewell to spring interns with virtual ceremony

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities bid farewell to its 2024 spring interns with a virtual ceremony held on April 18, 2024. The participants were undergraduate and graduate students who served internships with federal agencies across the country, as part of the HACU National Internship Program.

Executive Director of HNIP Diana Vasquez welcomed and congratulated the interns on completing their internship. A keynote address was given by former HNIP intern Tatiana Muriel, who serves as contract specialist for the U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Remarks were also given by current interns Alondra Labastida Campos, Adriana Pinero Tores, David Muñoz and Claire Chang who spoke about their internship experiences this session.

Approximately 200 students participated in these internships for a total of 15 weeks, as part of HACU’s National Internship Program. The following agencies in the Washington, D.C., metro area and field offices throughout the country provided the internships opportunities:

  • Library of Congress
  • Securities and Exchange Commission
  • Small Business Administration
  • U.S. Agency for International Development
  • U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)
    • Forest Service
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
    • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
    • National Institute of Health
  • U.S. Department of Justice
  • U.S. Department of Labor
  • U.S. Department of Treasury
  • Bureau of Engraving and Printing

HACU is accepting applications for the 2024 fall internship session. Internship dates are Sept. 2 – Dec. 13, 2024. Applications will be accepted until June 28, 2024. Information about eligibility and online application is available here
