The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities hosted an Emerging Leaders' Summit on May 3, 2024, on the campus of San José State University. The event brought together over 120 students from area colleges and universities to meet with professionals and corporate representatives to learn more about career opportunities, tips for resume writing, interviewing, and securing internships.
Opening remarks were given by Cynthia Teniente-Matson, Ed.D., SJSU president, and Mari Fuentes-Martin, Ed.D., SJSU interim vice president of student affairs.
Corporate partners that held career preparation workshops and panels included: CalTrans, Career Launch, Cintas, City of San José, Enterprise, Nordstrom, Pacific Postal Credit Union, PayPal, Rocketship Public Schools, Sherwin-Williams and USAID. The Summit concluded with closing remarks from Luis Sanchez, HACU student services manager.
