Hispanic College Quiz air dates announced

The team from Los Angeles Southwest College collaborates to find the correct answer while competing on the Hispanic College Quiz game show.

This fall, eight HACU-member institutions will be featured in the Hispanic College Quiz show, which will air nationwide during Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15-Oct. 15.

The Hispanic College Quiz gives teams of students a chance to test their knowledge of Hispanic heritage for a chance to win a scholarship for their institution. Trinity University from San Antonio, TX placed first in the competition winning $10,000 in scholarship funds for their institution. Abraham Baldwin Agricultuual College placed second.

Teams from the following institutions were among the participants:

  • Arizona Western College
  • California State University, Los Angeles
  • Los Angeles Southwest College
  • Colorado State University, Pueblo
  • Eugenio Maria de Hostos Community College (CUNY); and,
  • University of Houston - Downtown

The “Hispanic College Quiz” TV series is produced by Central City Productions and hosted by NBC news anchor Zoraida Sambolin. This is the third year HACU has partnered with Central City Productions to produce the Hispanic College Quiz.
