HACU extends application deadline for Deloitte $10,000 Leadership Award for accounting students 

Deloitte LLP and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) have partnered to offer the Jorge Caballero Student Leadership Award of $10,000 to a Hispanic student majoring in accounting with plans to pursue a CPA and demonstrates leadership qualities through academics and community involvement.

Deloitte LLP is a global firm comprised of national subsidiaries that provide audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management and tax services to select clients.

The eligibility requirements for the award are:

  • Accounting major with definitive plans to meet the 150 hour requirement for obtaining CPA certification
  • A GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Enrolled full-time in a four-year college or university
  • Sophomore or Junior
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Three short essay responses
  • Most recent transcript (spring 2017), enrollment verification form verifying fall 2017 enrollment, and a resume (must include GPA and graduation date)

The recipient of the award will receive paid travel expenses and registration to attend the Student Track of HACU's 31st Annual Conference, Oct. 28-30, 2017, in San Diego, Calif., to be recognized during the national event.
