HSI STEM Hub summer workshops for the NSF HSI Grant Program to provide basic insight and instruction on how to compete for NSF funding. Workshop dates are June 20 & 21 - Las Cruces, NM; July 18 & 19 - Los Angeles, CA; July 29 & 30 - New York, NY. 

IIE Centennial Fellowships: Deadline to Apply July 8, 2019.

Humanities Initiatives at Hispanic-Serving Institutions grant to help strengthen the teaching and study of the humanities by developing new humanities programs, resources, or courses, or by enhancing existing ones. Deadline is July 12, 2019.

The Department of Education issued a notice inviting applications (NIA) for new awards for fiscal year (FY) 2019 for the Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program, Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance number 84.031S.Deadline to apply is July 15, 2019.

HACU's 33rd Annual Conference, Oct. 5-7, Chicago, Illinois
With only 113 days away for HACU's premier conference on Hispanic higher education. The online registration deadline of Sept. 20 is fast approaching for HACU’s Annual Conference and pre- and post-conference events. Undergraduates have until June 28 to apply for a Student Track-HACU's ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute Scholarship. Exhibitor, advertising and sponsorship/partnership opportunities are available.

HACU National Internship Program fall application deadline extended
The HACU National Internship Program fall session deadline has been extended to June 21, 2019. Some of the internships for the fall are at the following agencies: Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; Food and Drug Administration; and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. More>>

College students spend summer in paid internships at federal agencies
HACU welcomed its first group of 2019 summer interns with an orientation on May 31, 2019. Approximately 173 college students are serving in federal internships in Washington, D.C., and field offices nationwide. More>>

HACU and Hispanic Educational Technology Services have announced their collaboration on a special edition of an online journal focused on Hispanic-Serving Institutions. Articles for this special issue will be accepted through Sept. 13, 2019. More>>

HACU has announced the application deadline for scholarships available from MillerCoors has been extended to August 1, 2019. The scholarships are open to students attending HACU-member institution in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New York, Texas and Wisconsin. More>>

Mark your calendars, National Hispanic-Serving Institutions week will be observed Sept. 16-22, 2019. The observance takes place during National Hispanic Heritage Month. More>>

Request for Title V program success stories
HACU is soliciting grant-related student success stories from its member Hispanic-Serving Institutions. The focus of the articles should be on how grant funding has made a difference with programs offered for students on your campus. Stories are accepted for any of the following HSI grants: U.S. Department of Education’s Title III-Part F or Title V, National Science Foundation, or U.S. Department of Agriculture funding. We accept up to 500-word count with a university logo and photos. The articles will be considered for publishing in an upcoming HACU quarterly issue of The Voice of Hispanic Higher Education. The 2019 submission deadlines are as follows: Fall issue - July 17. Winter issue - Oct. 4. Email article and/or any questions to news@hacu.net.

HACU Call to Action for passage of the Fostering Undergraduate by Unlocking Resources for Education (FUTURE) Act – Call your members of Congress 

HACU has issued a call-for-action for passage of the Fostering Undergraduate by Unlocking Resources for Education (FUTURE) Act (H.R. 2486 / S. 1279) introduced by Senators Doug Jones (D-AL) and Tim Scott (R-SC), along with Representatives Alma Adams (D-NC) and Mark Walker (R-NC). Ask your members of Congress to extend the authority for HEA Title III, Part F, due to expire on Sept. 30, 2019. HSIs enroll over 63% of all Hispanic students and continued investment in HSIs will increase overall STEM production. More>>
